DigiProtocol was developed at the North Holland Horse Trials (NHHT) – an international event hosting 260+ competitors from 14 different nations. We saw firsthand the chaos of paper score sheets, radio interference, and delayed results.
With just 13 days to go before the event, we decided to build a solution. Starting from scratch, we developed DigiProtocol in those 13 days, purchased 30 devices, and took the risk of deploying a fully functional pilot at a large international competition.
We built DigiProtocol to fix it – and it worked.
Our mission is simple: to replace outdated paper workflows with a high-speed digital ecosystem. By integrating real-time scoring, instant Equipe synchronization, and professional digital communication into one rugged handheld device, we bring peace of mind to the central post and excitement to the leaderboard.
Everything you need for a Seamless Event
Rugged Hardware: Judges use dedicated handhelds designed for DigiProtocol. Featuring large, clear displays, 100% weatherproofing, and a battery life that lasts the day.
Integrated Start & Finish Control: Dedicated tablets for the start and finish lines. The system automatically alerts the start if a rider is not allowed to start due to:
Eliminations in Dressage or Showjumping.
Veterinary withdrawal (Horse Inspection).
Outstanding financial/administrative requirements.
Equipe Integration: We offer deep native synchronization with Equipe (equipe.com). Start lists sync live, and results are published instantly to online.equipe.com.
System Flexibility: While optimized for Equipe, DigiProtocol is a standalone system. It can be used independently, with data available for manual export to other systems like Rechenstelle.
Offline Resilience: Connected via 4G Multi-SIM. If the network fails, the system continues to work offline and syncs automatically once reconnected.
Instant Incident Reporting: An extensive calamity system allowing for immediate reporting and coordination between the field and the central post.
Live Satellite Map: The secretary has a real-time overview of all volunteer locations, obstacles per class, and the estimated position of riders based on their last recorded jump.
Digital Incident Forms: Official fall forms and other documents are built directly into the app for instant submission.
Stop-Time Tracking: Easily time and log riders who are held on course due to a calamity or technical hold.
Video Evidence: Record jumps or incidents directly within the app; footage is instantly synchronized and available at the secretary’s office for official review.
Official Dashboard: A dedicated mobile portal for officials and organizers to monitor the cross-country progress with live insights on their own smartphones or tablets.
Direct Communication: Seamlessly send questions, remarks, or notes to the secretary or officials through the integrated messaging system.
Base Station Hub: We provide 2 mobile base stations (mobilofoons) to centralize and boost coordination and communication at the central post.
Designed by the Crew: DigiProtocol is co-designed with Fence Judges, Calamity Coordinators, Secretariat staff, and Course Builders. Every feature is a solution to a real-world challenge faced by the people on the ground.
Highly Customizable: Every organization is unique. DigiProtocol is highly adaptable, allowing you to toggle specific features and options on or off to suit your event’s specific workflow.
Continuous Improvement: We gather feedback after every single event. This feedback is processed and used to roll out regular updates, ensuring the system evolves with the sport.
Full Hardware Kit: We provide the complete hardware setup: 60 ruggedized phones (45 for judges, 15 for safety services), 2 tablets for timing, and the central communication hub.
